How Are Games Saved On The Nintendo Ds?

I’m planning on getting a Nintendo DS and I was wondering how games are stored? Is it saved onto the hard drive like a PS3, or are their memory cards like a PS2? Can I save Game Boy Advance games in the same manner as DS games (like if there is a memory card, can I save Advance and DS games on the same type of card? Thanks!

    Its saved into the cartridge itself that you are playing.

    you save the game by press start,press save(for most games)
