I just bought a nintendo ds and im planning to buy the r4 or cycloDS . Can you suggest which is better and why?
Also, which SD memory card i should get: 1g, 4g, 8g.
So i was wondering how many nintendo ds games can a 1g SD card hold?

cycloDS is better if you are going to use the extra features, plus you get a lot of new features all the time and the user interface is nicer and easier to use. Also it supports larger capacity SD cards. On the other hand r4 is a bit cheaper, and probably more reliable. It won’t make it easier for you, but you should also consider M3. Anyway, my suggestion is to go for cycloDS.
As for the SD memory card..cycloDS supports cards of upto 32GB capacity, however I don’t think you’ll need a card that big. Here’s a good website to compare the prices and find the cheapest deal for the memory cards: http://www.memory.co.uk . I think 2GB should be enough to have a reasonable number of games, however you can buy a larger one depending on how deep your pockets are
You can have from around 40 games in 2Gb card depending on the sizes of the games you install. Good luck with your console
1 nintendo ds game can range from 8MB to 256MB
i’d rather you go for the cyclods because it has better features(ingame menu, ingame cheat toggle, real time save/load, slowmotion), whereas the r4 is way out of date, the firmware updates just don’t happen anymore for that card and it doesn’t have any of the features that the cyclods has,and it’s most likely that the more newer games won’t work.
if you decide to get the r4 it doesn’t have sdhc support so the most you can get on it is 2GB, whereas the cyclods can get up to 32GB since it’s sdhc compatible.
i recommend you get a 4GB card since you probably won’t use it all anyway.
most games are usually 32-64MB so a 1GB card can hold about 20 games give or take.
32-128mb.
Though I have seen 1 game with 8mb.
8gb if you plan on putting games, movies, pictures and music on it.
4gb if only games.
You could fit at least 25 games.
1 game can be anywhere from 32mb up to 100+mb
